RICHLAND -- Teea Bunker had two goals and an assist to lead Richland to a 4-1 victory over Kamiakin on Saturday in a matchup of CBBN girls soccer unbeatens at Bomber Field.

MATTAWA -- Connell got goals from four different players in a 4-0 road victory over Wahluke in SCAC East action.

RICHLAND -- Malfunctioning lights at Hanford's field forced the postponement of the Falcons' CBBN game with crosstown rival Richland.

SUNNYSIDE -- Haille Heid had two goals and one assist and Leonie Oostrom added three assists to lead Hanford over Sunnyside 6-0.

CONNELL -- Brianna Casper scored two goals and assisted on two others, and Rosa Hernandez had two goals and an assist as Connell rolled to a SCAC win over Kiona-Benton.

WENATCHEE -- Sam Lee headed in a corner kick by Teea Bunker just as the ref's whistle blew to close out the second overtime and Richland (3-0) won at Wenatchee 3-2 in a CBBN girls opener.

PASCO -- The play was as innocuous as the thousands that had come before it, a simple little boot from the back line that was headed out of bounds in a meaningless Pasco scrimmage this summer.

PASCO -- Pasco's Mahaley Sapp made two saves in the shootout as the Bulldogs defeated Southridge 1-0 in a matchup of last year's CBBN co-champions at Edgar Brown Stadium.

KENNEWICK -- Prosser had a field day as Kelli Wilson had four goals, Helen Peterson scored three times in the second half, and Madison Moore had a goal and two assists during a nonleague victory over Kennewick on Saturday.

PASCO -- Lexi Miller scored in the fifth minute on an assist from Katie Arendt and Tieler Kendrick scored twice, and Chiawana's soccer program made its debut with a 3-1 nonleague victory over visiting Selah.

RICHLAND -- Bria Caldwell scored in the 60th minute and Olivia Diaz made four saves to lead Richland over visiting Lewis & Clark 1-0 in nonleague girls soccer on Friday.

KENNEWICK -- Prosser midfielder Alberto Quinones was voted 2A player of the year in all-state voting by statewide media and coordinated by the Herald's Rene Ferran.

The Kamiakin girls team is hosting a set of friendlies over the next three days at Lampson Stadium.

PASCO -- Marco Acevedo was enjoying a dream season in 2009.

Mike Pardini, who led Pasco to its first ever boys state soccer championship as a player in 1999 and then coached the Bulldogs to their second title in 2007, resigned as head coach after compiling a 61-11 record over four years.

LAKEWOOD -- Paul Herrera, a four-year varsity letterwinner on the Pasco boys soccer team, stood with his teammates near the south sideline at Harry E. Lang Stadium after a 2-1 loss to South Kitsap in the 4A state soccer championship.

Pasco coach Mike Pardini has been itching to get something off his chest all season long, but Friday's 3-0 win over Woodinville finally afforded him the perfect opportunity.
