What a boring last couple of weeks in the prep sports world.
Between spring break and now WASL testing, things have been very slow around here lately. It did allow for a little family time, though -- I was able to sneak in a vacation last week.
With the long break in action, some teams -- Columbia Basin League baseball and softball teams, in particular -- almost have two seasons. There will be quite a bit of rust for them to shake off when they finally return to the diamond.
Fortunately for me, I get to shake my rust off this weekend with the 47th annual Pasco Invitational track meet. It’s one of my favorite events of the season, and I’m just hoping the weather cooperates this year.
By the way, here are the Week 3 statewide baseball rankings for your enjoyment. Richland takes over as No. 1 in the 4As, while Kiona-Benton remains No. 1 in 1As.
Haven’t heard from many of my usual suspects lately, so if anyone has a question or two they want to pop in the e-mailbox, this is a good time to do so.
Til next time ...
