The CBL 4A regular-season titles were decided this week with the Pasco girls and Walla Walla boys taking home the championships.
The Bulldogs held off Richland by one point in the girls race, winning three of the five pods and finishing second to the Bombers in the final two. Senior Kelsey Johnson won the individual title with a 79.4 stroke average, just beating out teammate Neddy Martinez (80.8).
Wa-Hi's boys swept the five league matches, with its top five golfers going 1-through-5 in the league standings. Drew Reinland edged Jeff Neher by two points for the title thanks to Reinland's win in the final match at Three Lakes.
-- Hanford's Josh Harvey shot rounds of 70 and 75 at Horn Rapids Golf Course in Richland, finishing with a 1-over 145 total to earn medalist honors and lead the Falcons to the team title at the 3A Eastern Regionals.
Four Hanford golfers were among the 12 state qualifiers. Joining Harvey at state May 20-21 at Bellingham Country Club will be Scott Kim, Nick Myles and Alex Cantu, as well as Sunnyside's Justin Bos and Southridge's Max Dreisbach.
-- State qualifying around the region continues Monday with the CWAC boys and CBL 4A girls district tournaments and the 3A girls regional. The CBL 4A boys, CWAC girls and SCAC districts are Tuesday.
