For a pair of Tri-City juniors, the state golf tournament was a bit of a redemption tour.

LIBERTY LAKE -- Pasco's Samson Martinez couldn't hold off hard-charging Eric Gravbrot in the Class 3A golf state championships Wednesday.

SPOKANE -- Samson Martinez was good through the first several holes of the 3A state golf tournament at Meadow Wood Golf Course on Tuesday, playing even par through the first six holes.

RICHLAND -- When the Class 4A state golf tournament tees off Tuesday, expect to see a lot of green -- and not just on the ground.

BANKS -- Hermiston senior Kurt Simmons won the Oregon 5A boys state golf championship with a two-day total of 145 (72-73) on Tuesday at the Quail Valley Golf Course in Banks.

PULLMAN -- Othello's Sam Pera, Colton Hall, Trevor Salsbury and Jared Kummer qualified for state along with Prosser's Devin Bender and Chad Hancock at the CWAC/GNL boys regional on Monday at Palouse Ridge Golf Course.

PASCO -- Southridge's Nick Mandell, Austin Westphal, Daniel Cruzen and Nick Atkin all finished among the top ten golfers to qualify for state, and the Suns led all teams with a 599 scored at the CBBN 3A boys district championships Monday at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco.

Ephrata's Kelsey Sage shot an 89 to earn medalist, and Othello's Delaney Towle and Paulie Garza each shot 101 to tie for third and qualify for regionals at Lakeview Country Club on Thursday in CWAC 2A District championship action.

YAKIMA -- Kristin Strankman shot a 76 to take medalist honors and lead Richland to a CBBN 4A girls victory with a 341 at Yakima Elks.

SPOKANE -- Pasco's Samson Martinez outpaced the field by two strokes, shooting par at 72 at the Spokane Country Club.

SUNNYSIDE -- Hermiston's Kurt Simmons shot a five-over par 77 to take medalist honors and the Bulldogs finished first with 327 in a nonleague golf match at Black Rock Creek in Sunnyside.

YAKIMA -- West Valley's Eric Gravbrot shot 1-under par 72 to take medalist honors, but Southridge won the team title with a 306 in the fifth, and final, CBBN 3A pod match Tuesday at Apple Tree Golf Course in Yakima.

PASCO -- Richland's Kristin Strankman and Mary McDonald toughed out some dower conditions and posted 2-over-par 38s Monday to share medalist honors and give the Bombers a one-two-three sweep of a CBBN 4A match shortened to nine holes at Sun Willows in Pasco.

SUNNYSIDE -- Paulie Garza carded a 94 at Black Rock Creek Golf Course in Sunnyside to lead Othello to a CWAC girls golf wine.

RICHLAND -- Liberty Christian's Jared Hoey and Francesca Lahoz earned medalist honors in a Southeast 2B-1B golf match at Columbia Point.

EAST WENATCHEE -- Taylor Kain-Godoy earned medalist honors and led the Hanford girls to a victory Monday in its CBBN 3A match at Highlander Golf Course in East Wenatchee.

RICHLAND -- The Richland boys golf team has been playing a game of musical chairs with the rest of the CBBN 4A squads this season, seemingly picking a new winner at random in each event.

SPOKANE -- Richland's Kristin Strankman carded a 9-over 80 and finished fifth to help the Bombers take fourth at the 24-team Big East Girls Invitational at Wandermere Golf Course.

RICHLAND -- DeSales standout Ryan Baumgart carded a 1-over-par 73 at Columbia Point to earn medalist honors at a District 9 tournament.

KENNEWICK -- Kennewick's Sean Prue took home medalist honors Wednesday at Canyon Lakes in a CBBN 3A pod match.

KENNEWICK -- Hanford's Taylor Kain-Godoy shot 9-over-par 81 to take medalist honors and the Falcons stroked a 361 to take first overall on Wednesday at the CBBN 3A girls pod match at Canyon Lakes.

WENATCHEE -- Richland's Mary McDonald had 7-over par 79 to take medalist at the 4A girls golf pod on Tuesday at Three Lakes in Wenatchee.

PASCO -- Richland's Jeff Marcum hit a hole-in-one on the 165-yard No. 16 hole and was medalist at 1-under-par 71 to lead the Bombers to the team title in a CBBN 4A boys pod match at Sun Willows.

PENDLETON — The Kamiakin Braves won a team playoff to knock off La Grande, Ore., in the Pendleton High School Invitational at the Pendleton Country Club.

RICHLAND -- Ryan Baumgart of DeSales shot a 6-over-par 78 at Columbia Point to take medalist honors as the Irish defeated Liberty Christian.

KENNEWICK -- Pasco's Daniel Haug fired a 2-under-par 70 for medalist honors, and Kennewick's Sean Prue and Hanford's Scott Kim both shot 71 to tie for second at the Southridge Invitational on Wednesday at Canyon Lakes Golf Course.

YAKIMA -- Richland's Cole Lorenzo shot a 4-over-par 76 to take medalist honors as the Bombers posted a 313 to beat out seven teams Monday in a CBBN 4A boys golf pod match at Yakima Country Club.

KENNEWICK -- Southridge's Nick Mandell fired a 2-over-par 65 to take medalist honors as the Suns earned 292 and finished second overall behind Hanford on Monday at the CBBN 3A boys golf pod match at Tri-City Country Club in Kennewick.

YAKIMA -- Jack Tumlinson of Kamiakin shot a 2-over-par 74 to earn medalist honors at the Central Washington Invitational on Tuesday at Apple Tree.

WENATCHEE -- Nick Atkin fired a 1-under 68 and finished tied for second in leading the Southridge boys to the Jack Barnes Invitational team title at Three Lakes Golf Course.

YAKIMA -- Pasco junior Samson Martinez shot a 1-over par 73 on Sunday at Apple Tree Golf Course in Yakima to finish the Apple Tree Junior Open at even par 144.

RICHLAND -- Ryan Baumgart shot a 3-over-par 37 on Thursday to bring home the medalist honors in Southeast District 9 boys golf at Columbia Point.

PASCO -- Kristin Strankman of Richland shot 6-over 78 at the Tri-City Championships at Sun Willows to earn medalist honors Monday, beating teammate Mary McDonald by five strokes.

YAKIMA -- Richland's Kristin Strankman carded a 3-over 75 in leading the Bombers to second place at the Lee Dolquist Invitational at Apple Tree in Yakima.

KENNEWICK -- DeSales' Bryce Scott earned medalist honors with a 5-over 41 and Tri-Cities Prep cruised to the team title during a District 9 B golf match at Canyon Lakes.

RICHLAND — For the last decade, the Hanford High School golf team has routinely pumped out state-quality golfers.

RICHLAND -- Kristin Strankman shot a 5-over-par 76 to take medalist honors and Hope Neidhold recorded a hole-in-one on No. 17 -- the first of her career -- en route to a second-place round of 79 as the Richland girls won a CBBN 4A pod match Monday at Meadow Springs Country Club.

OTHELLO -- Othello's Trevor Salsbury shot 7-over-par 77 to lead the competition as the Huskies placed first among a field of 11 teams Friday at Othello Golf & Country Club.

MOSES LAKE -- Kristin Strankman shot an 87 and teammate Hope Neidhold fired an 88 to finish 3-4 resepctively at the Moses Lake Invite for Richland's Green team.

KENNEWICK -- Tanner Martin earned medalist honors with a 2-under 63, and Hanford teammates Scott Kim (65) and Cole Snider (68) both posted top 10 finishes to lead the Falcons to the team title Friday at the Kennewick Invite at Tri-City Country Club.

SUNNYSIDE -- Chad Hancock turned in a 2-over-par 38 to lead Prosser and claim medalist honors at the Grandview High Jamboree at Black Rock Creek Golf Course.

PASCO -- Eric Gravbrot of West Valley carded a 2-under 70 at Sun Willows to win medalist honors at the Pasco High Golf Invitational on Monday.

Scott Kim admittedly struggled at times during his junior golf season at Hanford.

RICHLAND -- An error in team scoring erased the Hanford boys' state team title in golf.

RICHLAND -- Hanford's Scott Kim claimed the 3A boys state golf championship Wednesday at Meadow Springs Country Club in Richland, shooting an even-par 72 in the second round to edge out Enumclaw's Tyler Salsbury by two strokes.

WALLA WALLA -- Jeff Reinland realized pretty early that neither of his sons, Max and Drew, were going to play basketball for him at Walla Walla Community College.

Beginning this afternoon, the state comes to the Tri-Cities.

EPHRATA -- Othello and Prosser qualified four boys apiece for next week's 2A state championships in Yakima as the teams shared the CWAC district title.

ROSLYN -- Warden qualified four boys and four girls for next week's 1A state tournament at Columbia Point, with Carter Marks winning a playoff with teammate Haley Buck for the final girls spot from the SCAC district tournament at Suncadia resort.

SPOKANE -- Three Hanford boys advanced to the state 3A golf tournament after qualifying at the regional tournament Friday at Wandermere Golf Course.
