KENNEWICK -- The Kennewick girls bowling team took fourth place overall in the Class 3A-2A state tournament Saturday at Narrows Plaza Bowl in Tacoma.

Kennewick junior Karissa Shiflet became the first bowler in Lions history to win a state championship, edging Brittany Yoke of Mark Morris for the 3A girls individual title by four pins Friday at Narrows Plaza Bowl in University Place.

Narrows Plaza Bowl in University Place is something like a second home for the Kennewick and Moses Lake girls bowling programs.

KENNEWICK — The Kennewick Lions earned their seventh trip to state in nine years with a second-place finish in the 3A/2A competition at the District 5/6 girls bowling championship Friday at Spare Time Lanes.

The District 5/6 girls bowling championship will take place at 12:45 p.m. Friday at Spare Time Lanes in Kennewick.

KENNEWICK -- Kennewick, still riding high from its 3A/2A division title clinching victory last week against Selah, won the CBBN League title outright with a solid 3-1 defeat of 4A division champions Wenatchee on Tuesday at Spare Time Lanes.

Kennewick had an advantage of 97 pins over Selah to decide a split CBBN 3A-2A game at Spare Time Lanes in Kennewick.

The Kennewick Lions went on the road for a tough test Thursday against Sunnyside, splitting a CBBN league matchup 2-2 but winning on overall pin total at Valley Lanes in Sunnyside.

Karissa Shiflet rolled games of 201 and 224 as Kennewick posted a four-game sweep of Davis in a nonleaguer on Tuesday at Minda Lanes in Yakima.

KENNEWICK -- Karissa Shiflet rolled games of 195 and 188 to lead the Kennewick girls 4-0 over visiting Pasco in a 3A-2A girls bowling match.

Maddie Serrano rolled a 210 in the first scratch game and Pasco defeated Selah 3-1 in a CWL 3A-2A league contest.

Kennewick's Danielle Gonzales rolled a 217 as the Lions defeated the West Valley Rams 3-1 in a CWL 3A-2A contest Thursday.

Chiawana had an 80-pin advantage to beat Wenatchee on the road. Valerie Vela rolled a 258 in the first scratch game and Megan Carpenter a 225 in Game 2 for the Riverhawks.

Danielle Gonzales rolled games of 195 and 209 as Kennewick swept Moses Lake 4-0 in a nonleaguer at Spare Time Lanes.

Mariko Sital rolled games of 198 and 168 as Pasco swept Ellensburg 4-0 in a CWL 3A-2A contest at Go Bowl.

PASCO -- Chiawana had the advantage of 12 pins against Kennewick as the Riverhawks won 3-1 at Go Bowl.

Selah 2, Kennewick 2: The Vikings earned the CWL 3A-2A victory thanks to a total pins advantage of 1,914-1,870 against the visiting Lions (3-2 league).

YAKIMA -- Pasco swept the baker games to knot a contest against West Valley, but the Rams had the pin count advantage to beat the Bulldogs on Tuesday in a CWL 3A-2A contest at Nob Hill Lanes in Yakima.

PASCO -- Karissa Shiflet rolled scratch games of 235 and 201 as Kennewick swept Pasco 4-0 in a Central Washington League 3A-2A bowling contest at Go Bowl.

KENNEWICK -- Danielle Gonzales rolled scratchd games of 217 and 157 as Kennewick beat Ellensburg 3-1 in a CWL 3A game Tuesday at Spare Time Lanes.

MOSES LAKE -- Moses Lake junior Breanne Garry rolled 191 and 163 in the scratch games as the Chiefs defeated the Panthers 3-1 in a CWL 4A contest at Lake Bowl.

PASCO -- Pasco's Mariko Sital rolled a 243 and 138, and the Bulldogs girls edged Chiawana in two baker games to emerge triumphant at Go Bowl Lanes.

MOSES LAKE -- Karissa Shiflet rolled a 188 and 197, and the Kennewick girls topped 170 in three of their four baker games to finish first among 3A teams.

KENNEWICK -- A rewarding season for high school bowlers was capped with a surprise as the state hopes of 3A powerhouse -- and CBBN league champion -- Kennewick were upset in a regional loss to both Selah and West Valley.
