YAKIMA -- Brittany Blackketter rolled a 222 game to help Kennewick tie Eisenhower 2-2 in a Columbia Basin Big Nine girls bowling match at Nob Hill Lanes in Yakima.

KENNEWICK -- Whitney McGary rolled a match-high 234 in Game 2 to help pilot Kennewick to a 3-1 victory over Moses Lake in the pairs' CBBN 4A season opener at Spare Time Lanes.

Kennewick will host Moses Lake in both teams' CBBN 4A season opener at 3:30 p.m. today, but Lions coach Oscar Garnica is already confident that his second year piloting the program will be an improvement over his debut season.

Pasco senior Yvette Yzaguirre helped lead her team to sixth place overall at the 4A state tournament and earned fourth place overall in the individual category with a 1,119 pin-count.

TACOMA -- The Kennewick girls started strong and finished on fire in the Baker games but couldn't make up any ground on first-day leader Emerald Ridge at the 4A state tournament at Narrows Plaza Lanes.

Kennewick girls bowling teammates -- and sisters -- senior Amanda Blackketter and sophomore Brittany Blackketter helped pilot the Lions to the 2009 4A district championship and hope to continue their run at the state tournament Friday at Narrows Plaza Bowl in University Place.

EAST WENATCHEE -- Eisenhower knocked off Wenatchee 3-1 on Tuesday at Eastmont Lanes to secure the Big 9 title, and the Cadets (8-2) earned the honor of playing host to to regionals Jan. 27 at Nob Hill Lanes in Yakima.

YAKIMA -- Davis took advantage for a 3-1 CBBN bowling victory at home as Kennewick struggled at Minda Lanes.

KENNEWICK -- Amanda and Brittany Blackketter led Kennewick to 3-1 CBBN victory Thursday over visiting Wenatchee at Spare Time Lanes.

PASCO -- Francesca Dominquez recorded games of 201 and 182 to help Pasco defeat visiting Davis in CBBN girls bowling Tuesday at Go Bowl.

KENNEWICK -- Amanda Blackketter rolled a 204 to help Kennewick post a 4-0 victory over Selah in CBBN girls bowling at Spare Time Lanes on Thursday.

SUNNYSIDE -- Angie Yzaguirre rolled a 180 to help Pasco defeat Sunnyside 4-0 in CBBN girls bowling at Valley Lanes.

Pasco seniors Yvette Yzaguirre and Franchesea Dominguez are among area athletes who have dominated the bowling lanes through the first 10 weeks of the Central Washington girls varsity season.

MOSES LAKE -- Brittany Blackketter rolled a 201 to help Kennewick overcome Shanice Brice's pair of 200-plus games for Moses Lake.

YAKIMA -- Brittany Blackketter of Kennewick and Yvette Yzaguirre of Pasco led their schools to victories over Eisenhower and Yakima, respectively.

EAST WENATCHEE -- Yvette Yzaguirre rolled games of 192 and 204 to help Pasco split with Wenatchee in a CBBN 4A/3A girls match at Eastmont Lanes.

PASCO -- Kiley White had the day's best game with a 191 as Kennewick won the tiebreaker with Pasco on total pinfall at Go Bowl in Pasco.

MOSES LAKE -- Kennewick finished fourth out of 10 teams at the Moses Lake jamboree as the girls high school season opened.
