Wa-Hi's Carter takes over as Kamiakin baseball coach

By the Herald staff

KENNEWICK -- Kamiakin High School has found Rex Easley's replacement.

The Braves stalwart who spent the last 22 of his 34 years at Kamiakin as the head baseball coach, will be succeeded by Ryan Carter, head coach at Walla Walla since 2005.

Easley announced his retirement this spring after rolling up 485 victories and a .770 winning percentage. He guided Kamiakin to eight state berths, including a state title in 1994 and trophies in 1993 and '98.
