Baseball roundup: Moses Lake ousts Wa-Hi

MOSES LAKE -- Brock Lybbert, Mitch Yada and Dylan Signorelli combined on a four-hitter, and Cameron Alvarado drove in a pair of runs as Moses Lake eliminated Walla Walla 4-0 from the Columbia Basin Big Nine 4A district tournament.

The Chiefs take on Kamiakin in another loser-out game Friday at Columbia No. 1 seed Southridge.

Eastmont, an 18-12 winner over Davis, plays Kennewick in another loser-out game at Cascade top seed Richland.

OTHELLO -- Marc Garza allowed two runs over four innings and also hit one of Othello's five homers as the Huskies survived a wild Central Washington Athletic Conference district semifinal to qualify for state for the second straight year.

Othello will play defending district champion Selah for the title Saturday in Ephrata. Othello last won the title in 2003.

The Huskies led 18-3 after five innings before Ephrata rallied with 10 runs in the sixth. The teams combined for eight home runs.

River View hosts Columbia (Burbank) in Friday's semifinals, with the winner clinching a state berth.
