He scored the first goal in a 2-0 victory over Warden, then had four goals in an 8-0 victory over Naches Valley as the Eagles opened SCAC play.
Track & Field
Courtney Kirkwood, Jr., Othello
She became the first girl in more than 20 years statewide to open a season with consecutive throws of over 150 feet in the javelin.
Golf
Jon Lumper, Sr., Southridge
He won the season-opening Bantam Invitational in Clarkston with a 4-over 76, leading the Suns to the title, then shot a 7-over 72 at the Kennewick Invitational.
Tennis
Quin Miller, Sr., Kamiakin
He defeated Richard Muszynski III of Clarkston 6-3, 6-0 to win the No. 1 boys single title at the Lewiston Invite, leading the Braves to the team championship.
Baseball
Tyler Thompson, Sr., Richland
He doubled in the go-ahead run and pitched three scoreless innings to earn the save against Evergreen, then homered and went 3-for-3 in a win over Sandpoint.
