The Mid-Columbia Athletes of the Week for October 29, 2009.

Football

Matt Hadley, Soph., Connell

He ran for 126 yards and three second-half touchdowns to lead the Eagles past Royal 30-14, securing a share of the SCAC East title.

Cross Country

Zach Martin, Sr., Hanford

He won the CBBN 3A district title to lead the Falcons to the team championship, finishing the 5K course in 16:33.

Soccer

Helen Peterson, Soph., Prosser

She scored five goals in a win over Grandview, then had a goal and an assist and converted her shootout PK to beat Wapato.

Volleyball

Adriana Ramos, Jr., Grandview

She had 12 kills and four blocks in a win over Toppenish, and 11 kills and four blocks in beating Prosser as Hounds won CWAC South title.

Swimming

Stephanie Tixier, Fr., Hanford

She swam school records and state times in back-to-back events -- 100-yard butterfly and 100 free -- at CBBN championship meet.
