The Mid-Columbia Athletes of the Week for Oct. 19, 2007.

Swimming

Catherine Polito, Soph., Moses Lake

She won the 200-yard individual medley and 100 backstroke -- both in state-qualifying times -- and swam on two winning relays in a CBL 4A dual vs. Wenatchee.

Cross country

Derek Scott, Sr., Kamiakin

He finished second overall in a six-way CBL meet in Yakima to lead the Braves to wins over Sunnyside and Kennewick, locking up the CBL 3A boys title with a 6-0 league record.

Football

Tate Stiles, Sr., Southridge

He had a school-record 46 carries for 202 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winner in the second overtime against Hanford.

Volleyball

Rachel Todorovich, Jr., Walla Walla

Setter had 37 assists, four kills and eight digs in a sweep of Richland, then had 21 assists, seven kills, five aces and four blocks vs. Moses Lake.

Soccer

Maci Whitby, Fr., Connell

Goalkeeper recorded three shutouts -- 4-0 against Royal, 1-0 vs. Wahluke and 3-0 vs. Warden -- to help the Eagles clinch the SCAC East title.
