Horror flick 'Baghead' bags praise

Two friends and two female companions head to a remote cabin to write a horror movie.
One is serious about doing a script that will make some serious cash.
The other isnt.
The only idea they can come up with is a bag-headed killer showing up at a remote cabin to kill four friends staying there.
The not-so-good-looking friend is in love with one of the women, but shes not in love with him. An old girlfriend accompanies the other. The four drink, drug and bicker.
Then, a mysterious and scary guy with a bag on his head actually does show up. The danger escalates when they try to escape and find their car has been disabled. Of course, there is no cell phone service.
It is exactly what you expect. No surprises. The characters behave like characters running into bad guys with bags on their heads.
Baghead is a cheaply made, limited plot idea from art house favorites Jay and Mark Duplass (The Puffy Chair).
This is not a movie for everyone. However, true fans of this horror genre will get the humor and the irony, and they will find the predictability appealing.
Mr. Movie rating: 4 stars
Rated R for mature themes, language, violence. It opens Friday at the Carmike 12.
5 stars to 4 1/2 stars: Must see on the big screen
4 stars to 3 1/2 stars: Good film, see it if it's your type of movie.
3 stars to 2 1/2 stars: Wait until it comes out on video.
2 stars to 1 star: Don't bother.
