RICHLAND -- Brandon Kearney, a professional out of Bend Golf & Country Club, shot a 7-under 65 to grab a one-shot lead going into today's final round of the Northwest Open at Meadow Springs Country Club.
Kearney is at 9-under 135, one shot ahead of Mike Schoner of Soap Lake (67-136).
Bob Rannow of Sandpines Golf Links in Florence, Ore., is three back at 138, while first-round leader Corey Prugh of Spokane is among a trio of golfers four back.
The top area golfer is Meadow Springs assistant Jason Aichele, who shot a 70 to move into a tie for 11th at 142, seven shots back.
Defending champion Rob Clark of Wenatchee is tied for 22nd at 144 with Richland's Steve Stull and former Pendleton resident Birk Nelson.
The top amateur in the field is Bill Winter of Portland, who is at 3-under 141.
Those who shot 6-over 150 or better made the cut.
The final round begins at 8 a.m. today, with the final group set to go off around 11:30 a.m.
