Kennewick's Tucker in contention at state am

PULLMAN -- Kennewick's Kevin Tucker, the Herald's 2006 All-Area Golfer of the Year, shot a 4-under 68 to get into contention at the halfway point of the 83rd Washington State Amateur at Palouse Ridge Golf Club in Pullman.

Tucker, who made the NCAA West Regionals last season as a junior at WSU, is tied for fourth at 4-under 140, three shots back of leader Stefan Richardson of Renton, a sophomore on the Idaho golf team.

Drew Reinland, who just finished his junior season at Walla Walla High School, also shot a 68 and moved into a tie for sixth, four strokes back.
