Spokane advances to ArenaCup title game

SPOKANE -- The Spokane Shock won the National Conference Championship with a 79-49 triumph over the Amarillo Dusters on Saturday at Spokane Arena.

With the victory, the Shock (18-1) advances to the ArenaCup title game and will play host to the American Conference Champion Tennessee Valley Vipers on Monday, Aug. 25.

Spokane, which earned its second trip to the ArenaCup in the team's three-year history, was led by quarterback Nick Davila, who accounted for eight touchdowns (seven passing, one rushing).

Wide receiver and Pasco product Raul Vijil (three TD catches) and fullback Kyle Young (two rushing TDs) also contributed in the win.

Amarillo finished its season at 10-9 overall (8-8 regular season, 2-1 playoffs).

Tennessee Valley (13-6) beat Manchester 45-35 for the American Conference. Alonzo Nix caught 10 passes for 197 yards and three touchdowns.

Quarterback Kevin Eakin completed 18 of 27 passes for three TDs and 250 yards with two interceptions.
