Fever lose two 2 receivers for Saturday's game

By the Herald staff

KENNEWICK -- The Tri-Cities Fever has had a hard enough time putting points on the board this season.

Now it looks like it will have to find points without two of its top offensive threats Saturday night at Stockton (3-9).

Receiver Tremayne Kirkland and receiver/linebacker Chris Hemphill have been nursing injuries all week at practice and are listed as game-time decisions.

Kirkland, who leads the team with 60 catches for 699 yards and 13 touchdowns, is dealing with an injured hamstring.

Hemphill, who scored the game-winning touchdown against Stockton on May 9, has a contusion in his knee.

In an effort to kick-start the Fever offense that ranks last in the league in scoring, coach Pat O'Hara will start quarterback Tomotsuna Inoue, who came off the bench last week to throw two touchdown passes.
