The Tri-Cities Fever bolstered its linebacking crew this week with the arrival of John Cousins, who is expected to start Saturday night in Peoria (1-2) alongside rookie Carlton Baker, who is replacing Ron Childs (hamstring).
Cousins (6-foot-3, 240 pounds) is in his second season out of USC, and started the season in Florida.
Wide receiver Phil Goodman was cleared to play after injuring his kidney and sternum in the loss to Boise last Saturday in the first half.
The Fever also placed LaRue Burley on the practice squad. Burley has seven catches for 86 yards and two touchdowns in three games. He also is tied for the team lead in interceptions with one.
