PORTLANT -- Brent Miles, Tri-City Dust Devils President and general manager was named the Northwest League Executive of the Year during league meetings in Portland on Thursday.
The award comes after a season in which the Dust Devils set a franchise single-season attendance record at Dust Devils Stadium with 75,308 fans. The Dust Devils increased attendance by a league-best 11 percent over 2006 and have seen a 39 percent jump in attendance since Miles became the team President following the 2004 season.
"There are many people that helped make 2007 the best season in Dust Devils history," Miles said in a release. "Our front office staff works extremely hard throughout the year and we get great support from our fans, sponsors, the Colorado Rockies and the City of Pasco. This award is a compliment to all those involved with Dust Devils baseball!”
The record-breaking crowds also were a part of the first playoff season in team history. The Dust Devils clinched a spot in the NWL Championship Series on the final day of the regular season and played host to the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes in the first two games of the playoffs.
