The Tri-City Dust Devils completed a three-game sweep of the Yakima Bears with a 3-1 victory Sunday in Yakima.
Tri-City starter Cory Riordan allowed only four hits in six shutout innings to earn his first win of the season. The Dust Devils improved to 15-25 in the Northwest League's East Division, while the Bears fell to 14-26.
Tri-Cities got its offense started with an RBI double by Darin Holcomb in the first inning, then added two runs in the fifth against Yakima starter Chase Christianson (2-3). Josh Banda led off with a single, moved to third on a double by Everth Cabrera and scored on a passed ball. One out later, Cabrera scored on a wild pitch to make it 3-0. Tri-Cities also got stellar pitching from its bullpen, as Joey Williamson, Craig Reynolds and Agustin Arias each worked an inning.
