Steve Ames threw two-hit ball and struck out 10 over 71/3 innings to lead Columbia Basin past Blue Mountain in the first game of an NWAACC East doubleheader in Pasco.

Blue Mountain rallied for four runs in the top of the ninth inning to steal the second game. Derek Bettinson had four hits and three RBIs to lead the Timberwolves, who strung together five consecutive singles in the ninth.

Phil Linger and Tyler Reeves each had four hits on the day and Luke Fieser drove in three runs in the nightcap for the Hawks.
